Product DescriptionThe Musicians Gear Double Pop Filter is a pro-level split screen pop blocker that removes unwanted “P” and “B” consonant plosives by providing open space between the two screens. The first screen diffuses the air that causes plosive consonants, the open space between the screens disperses air pressure, and the pop filters second screen disperses the air and removes any remaining plosive consonants. The Musicians Gear Double Pop Filter features a sophisticated design that removes any air pressure and is very effective in filtering wind-caused plosives.

  • No complaints… nice 2 sided design. Does its job. Wish it had a cooler looking clamp on the bottom, but it gets the job done!

  • I record in my home studio so my installation is stable and fixed. I was intrigued by the design of this product. Two screens separated by about a half inch of airspace. I was impressed by its construction. The screens are securely mounted in a molded plastic assembly that looks and feels robust. The gooseneck is smaller in diameter than others I’ve seen in this price class. The larger size being 3/8ths inch vs. 5/16th inch for this one. The smaller diameter gooseneck isn’t as stiff as its larger cousins so installation may be slightly more tricky and the filter may float about annoyingly when the mike or its mount are moved. If this filter is destined for a spring-loaded mike boom, its weight may be a problem. The double screen assembly is noticeably heavier than a single screen type. The gooseneck is welded to the clamp assembly so the clamp cannot be removed. It costs more to weld the gooseneck to the clamp but the increase in quality actually reduces versatility. If you use a spring-loaded full articulation mike boom, this filter may be too heavy depending on the type of mike used. I use such a mike boom with a relatively heavy mike and the weight of the total package was a problem for me. I removed the double screen assembly from its gooseneck (it unscrews easily). Since standard mike stand threads are used, it was easy to attach the double screen assembly to another gooseneck I had from which the clamp assembly had been easily unscrewed. I used cable ties to secure this double pop filter to the shock mount for the mike. It worked perfectly and the filter stays in front of the mike in all positions. The double screen pop filter is highly effective. If you like to “close talk” the mike, this filter makes it possible without all the potent plosives. While its weight may pose some installation challenges, this double screen pop filter is highly effective and does its job better than any single screen pop filter.

  • It’s a pop filter. In case one wasn’t good enough, they double it up! Works great. No complaints whatsoever. No need for a fancy pansy $50 metal mesh screen. This works just as good.
