Murdered musician remembered
Keith Chapin loved music, but his talent was silenced in Saturday evening in Virginia Beach.
Police said nearby Chapin was killed when his shot from just below a standoff with the officers. Now, this neighbor, Aaron Patterson has been in jail, accused of murder.
“This is a tragic loss,” said Gil Cornejo, owner Gil’s Bar & Grill. ”I was very quiet here these days.”
Every weekend, heavy metal fans flock to Gil Virginia Beach.
“He sang it was only the latest to be here,” said Cornejo.
But the heavier the music that plays is the sense of loss.
“This guy made me a better person,” said guitarist Jimmy McGinnis.
“It ‘was unreal,” said guitarist Travis Spaulding. ”E ‘devastating. When I heard the news did not believe.
Members of local band download not only lost a friend and a brother, but its leader.
“He always brought energy to the stage each show,” said bassist Kevin Newburn. ”He was our man of straw”.

Chapin was known for his pipes. He stood in front of passages aloud. Seems angry at times on stage, but his friend’s say he is part of the show.
“Keith was one of the men better than you could ever meet,” said Smith.

“The strength and compassion, very few people have both, but not certain,” said Spaulding.
Downloads in the last nine years to grow as a group, but now the future is difficult to see.
“This guy is totally my brother,” said McGinnis. ”I do not know if we really are.”
