Man slain on freeway was promising musician
Someone opened fire with a semiautomatic pistol Tucker Dewey white Nissan Sentra at 9:50 pm on Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol said the musician has struck several times forcing him to veer towards the West on the protection guardrail Cummings Skyway.
Tucker was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP Sgt. Trent Cross said.
No one was arrested. Researchers do not know why Tucker, who had no criminal record, was killed or whether he knew his attackers.
“We believe this is an act of random violence and senseless that Mr. Tucker was the wrong place at the wrong time,” said Cross.
Tucker’s parents, whose house was full of pain of relatives and friends on Wednesday, said he had no idea why someone would harm the girl who was engaged to marry.
“He lived the music, 24 hours a day,” said his mother, Shirley Tucker. “He said that his mind was always in music. He awoke in the morning, play music and began to read music.
“A young, talented, sweet man is gone,” he said, “and probably never know why.
She said that her son was on the road for a test late in the evening of the sudden, politically hip-hop set to play Friday at the Independent in San Francisco. Its low was found on the back seat.

Tucker, who he described as “Happy-Go-Lucky” young man who has never had any problems, he was always early to practice with your group and met with his dimpled smile and love for music.
“It ‘a tragedy,” said Simmons. “There must be something random, or anger, or some other nonsense, why should any of these things.”
