Located between the acoustic guitar fills racks of any respectable music store or guitar are some names of manufacturers that really stand out of the ordinary. It is not just guitars, which are crafts that represent years of guitar and artisan manufacturing technology to achieve an unmistakable sound and comfortable playing experience.

We use quality components, such as maple, mahogany and rosewood and the construction of light is always delivering a high degree of resonance of sound without distortion or fuzzy.

One of the most famous makers of the guitar is the guitar of Martin Company, which was founded in 1833. Their guitars are renowned for their exquisite sound and production and their designs have been copied by many other manufacturers. I have been fortunate to play one or two guitars and Martin finds it difficult to get the owners of the guitar that allows you to play them, such is the prestige and often the cost of the instrument. I’ve always wanted to have one, simply for the ease and convenience of playing the instrument and its delicious tone and resonance. Since the instruments are made by hand, you will find several pieces of wood inside the guitar is tuned, which means that no two instruments sound exactly the same and the sound quality is infinitely superior to most other guitars at the same price range. There is always a crisp sound that is softened by a strong tone that maintains its presence only in the desired length, which is not present on cheaper guitars. The action of most Martin is nearly perfect from the outset and will not have to spend too much time adjusting the neck of the guitar to get right.

Japanese manufacturer, Ibanez Guitars, began building their own guitars in the late 1930s and got its name from the Spanish guitar maker Ibanez Salvador whose workshop was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War. The Hoshino Gakki company was the importation of Ibanez guitars, it bought the rights to the brand Ibanez from the demand for instruments of high quality remains high. The brand became more popular in the American markets in the late 1950s and is currently supported by the likes of Steve Vai. Exceptional guitars are still produced in a wide range of shapes available. I was fortunate to inherit an Ibanez AW series of my father in 2001 when it bought himself a Takamine. The sound on my Ibanez is quite exquisite touch and many friends have said that sounds like a guitar at five thousand dollars, instead of the large (NZ dollars) my dad paid. My father did some work on the guitar to enhance the sound of it, replacing the original bridge, with a Takamine and after sanding with caution so that the action of the lower strings. The effect is quite impressive and I always use Martin Marquis light or medium gauge strings offer a bright sound with the maintenance of the instrument. It is a pleasure to play and I am excited about the product Ibanez.

Takamine guitars have been producing for over 40 years at its base near Mount Takamine, Japan. They are famous for the production of exceptional quality as most Japanese manufacturers, the quality and accuracy is usually delivered with a relatively low cost. One of the interesting points to consider is your skill with electronics and how their semi-acoustic models can be up Amped maintaining the integrity of the sound. Normally a sound is very difficult to achieve when Amped right, as an excellent acoustic sound is often lost or muddied the context of an amplifier. Often, Takamine sound very "tinny" when played acoustically, but the effect is connected when it is quite surprising. Definitely the tool for anyone who is doing live from the integrity of the sound is so good. Like Martin, the action of the instrument is well set at the factory, in comparison with other brands and are a joy to play.

Gremio started manufacturing guitars in 1953 and are renowned for producing exceptional instruments, both acoustic and electric versions. Several famous artists have played the instruments, including Bryan May of Queen, Eric Clapton and Bryan Adams. Like Takamine and Martin can be sure of an exceptional product and the manufacturer producing some high-end instruments for musicians who expect a little more than a product. My uncle bought a high value of 10 Gremio in the first 80 years. Such is the prestige of the instrument, I have never seen or touched!

Some other highlights include sound marks: Taylor, Yamaha, Gretsch, Fender, Gibson and Rickenbach.
