Gibson or Fender: Which prefer

Batman vs Superman. Chocolate vs. vanilla. Ginger vs. Maryann. All good on commitments to address issues around the hot stove, but the Fender vs Gibson argument is getting more hectic and panties feathers clustered among fans than any other.

Being a bassist, give me the nod to Fender. Pope Leo’s designs are the most copied, most wanted their creations, its easy to distinguish between the sounds lower than the enthusiasts Gibson.

Not trying to discount what the guys had Gibson’s happening in the first days, but the Fender Precision Bass sound (and later in jazz) is defined as the Detroit Motown Funk Brothers scene. Jaco Pastorius, widely regarded as the best bassist ever, used a Fretless Jazz Bass. Sure, Gibson had to be converted with notables such as Jack Bruce and John Entwistle, but did not reach through the instrument of obstacles to go to the weapon of choice for some of the history of the biggest names in music from reggae to country, metal .

Gibson has an iron fist guitar world, making the Les Paul / Marshall combo amp of the best 1-2 punch in rock n ’roll. That the release and remain at large, tried and true icons such as Thunderbird and EB series, changing little over the decades. Leo Fender was never one to rest on its laurels, though creative, and in addition to its improved design, was created Music Man instruments that are as coveted as that bears his name. Not only that, but in recent years has developed its business with G & L George Fullerton. The three manufacturers still have a strong sales presence in an otherwise crowded market too today.

Read any review on any product, and I will bet dollars to donuts that the reviewer how close under X can get a "C warmer tone low" or "under Honk Jazz." Low boutique shopping, you’ll find almost all offer either a Jazz, Precision, or both in its stable supply of habit, some even base their entire catalog on them. Not many ask customers to deposit thousands of dollars for a Ripper or Grabber Lookalike, and many should not.

Fender even made some gimmicky designs in the past usually did not sell well. When people buy a Fender, they want simplicity, performance, quality. They buy what they know will work. With Gibson looking plastic see-through sliding guitars and bridges and a decidedly user-friendly body styles, it is not surprising Jazz low are the highest selling of all time low. And few things are as attractive in the world of music that a well-worn, hard road and pristine accuracy of Jazz in the bright stage lights. Gibsons are designed to make the player look uncomfortable and to scare the nuns.

Time passes, tastes change, but people still Fender dream of its founder in the heart. While sometimes misfire, trying to deviate too much from the formula, coming back again on the inclusion of lighter materials, or the incorporation of new technologies in the manufacturing process. Stable for fans and musicians speak for themselves: between those who can afford any instrument they want and those who want most of the explosion to U.S. dollars stressed, Fender offers again and again, without vision or lack of players’ interests at heart.

Since the 1950s: 1 Fender, Gibson 0.
